  • Happy Go-Lucky #ARC Review

    Happy-Go-Lucky by L.H. Cosway
Every workplace has that one person you don’t want to mess with.

At James & Peterson Investigations, that would be Cameron Grant: sullen, grouchy, intimidating, oh yeah, and sexy as hell. He can make your soul wither with a single disapproving glare. And he never, ever socialises with his co-workers.

This is why Maisie Wilkins, happy-go-lucky ray of sunshine, can’t fathom why Cameron finally decided to show up at their annual office Christmas party. Every year he received an invite, and every year he failed to attend. But not this year.

Curious as to why he’s there, Maisie can’t resist sitting next to Cameron. Before she knows it, she’s had one too many drinks and is drunkenly hailing a cab back to his place. Office party flings are not something she normally does, but despite his intimidating character, Cameron has a charm she can’t resist. Or maybe it was just those five gin and tonics blurring her judgement.

Whatever the reason, Maisie now has to navigate the awkward, tension filled waters of sharing an office with someone she’s slept with.

    Review

I started following this story in the writer's newsletter and was thrilled when I saw it would be turned into a book.

I identified a lot with Maisie and her eternal desire to please everyone even if it made her suffer. She works at a investigation firm and Cameron is the unreachable guy. Reserved, serious and distant, he dislikes socializing with anyone and is the opposite of the  eternal smiling Maisie, but he ends up showing he is so sweet, romantic, cute and intense that he stole my heart.

When at a party, they approach, the whole dynamic of their lives changes. Each one will help the other change for the better and mature. I really enjoyed the interaction with co-workers, especially Lilah and loved the twists and turns of the plot.

     L. H. Cosway does not disappoint bringing a light story with lots of humor, touches of suspense, romance and tension. She capricious in the sexy scenes mostly a certain scene in a stationery closet ..... WOW!

I laughed a lot at various moments and the couple conquered me, especially in scenes involving a certain small keepsake card.

    Resenha
